Job Description

To ensure that customer requirements and concerns are address effectively and business management systems are compliant with internal and external standards, to support the business in achieving its overall quality objectivesClient DetailsMy client are a global manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Cardiff.DescriptionAs the Customer & Systems Quality Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the investigation of customer complaints ensuring speedy resolution and effective solutions are in place as outcome. Escalate issues with confidence when required
  • Reporting on warranty and QMS KPIs to senior management as well as shop floor production employees
  • Coordinating and submitting PPAP documentation to customers and following up on - and closing out of - any issues identified
  • Ensuring customer issues are cascaded to shop floor personnel through Quality Alerts and Tool Box Talks
  • Managing internal audit program (systems, process and product)
  • Managing customer audit schedule as well as ISO 9001, ISO/TS22163 and IATF 16949 external certification program. Following up on - and closing our of - any issues highlighted
  • Performing internal and external audits. Acting as a reference point in relation to the quality of auditing
  • Ensuring business processes are compliant to the latest applicable standards (ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, IATF 16949, CAA part 21G as well as customer specific requirements)
  • Coordinating communication with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regarding audits as well keeping business up to date with latest applicable regulation
  • Working with other functions to improve business processes
ProfileAs the Customer & Systems Quality Engineer you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • HND/HNC in a technical field
  • Previous experience in a customer facing and systems quality role
  • Experience and clear understanding of problem solving tools (8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, 5W1H, etc). Ability to clearly link data, problem definition, root cause and corrective/preventive actions
  • Demonstrable experience of working with quality tools and methodologies, preferably within a regulated industries
  • Practical experience with core automotive tools eg PPAP, APQP, MSA, Control plan and PFMEA
  • Lead auditor for ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 or ISO/TS 22163
