Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Neuropathologist based at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.Clinical Neuropathology is part of the Department of Cellular Pathology and provides a regional service with a full range of sub-specialty expertise including integrated molecular genetic diagnostics. A diagnostic service is provided for the expanded Neurosurgery Department and the Institute of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience. Autopsy neuropathology enjoys close links with on-site Paediatric Pathology and the Wales Institute of Forensic Medicine.University Hospital of Wales is the largest teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre in Wales and the Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be expected.Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary for this post is £103,806 per annum plus a further £26,672 per annum available in Commitment Awards.Applicants must ensure they provide the names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full.
