Composite fitters required - (contract Position) - Cardiff Shorterm Group are currently looking to recruit composite fitters for an Aerospace client based in the Cardiff area. Job Title: Composite FitterStart Date: 06.06.2022Shift: 4 days on, 4 days offHours: 06.20 - 18:30Duration : 3 month rolling contract£ competitive hourly rate / UmbrellaResponsibilities: Carry out large vacuum bag repairs.Ability to interpret and work to engineering drawings and process manualsStrip, repair and assembly of aircraft components and sub-assembliesApplication of skills in Composite techniquesMeasuring and marking out of materials to carry out close tolerance hand fitting processesPrecision drilling, countersink, reaming and finishing of holes in aircraft structure assemblies Application of assembly techniques including riveting, mechanical fasteners and other bonding processes Sealing and jointing techniques for environmental protection and painting, alocrome of aircraft structures.Excellent understanding of good working practicesApplication of bush and bearing installation Application of part mark on aircraft assemblies/sub-assemblies Assembly of pipework for various types of aircraft Alignment, pressure, electrical bonding testing and functional testing. Candidate:Previous experience of composite manufacturing processes and carrying out large vacuum bag repairs.Aerospace Fitters with Composite experience are preferred other industries will be considered if a similar background.Qualifications / experience*Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or equivalentTO APPLY;To register your interest please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
