Job Description

  • Attend and advise such committees, sub-committees and other groups and panels of the Client as instructed by the County Solicitor from time to time.
  • As directed from time to time by the County Solicitor, provide general legal advice to Client Members, Client Officers, and related bodies, companies, and organisations.
  • Execute or ensure that the Clients decisions regarding legal matters are carried out, as may be designated from time to time by the County Solicitor or the appropriate Operational Manager.
  • Advocate for the Client in court, at inquiries, hearings, and tribunals; handle litigation on the Clients behalf; and oversee and manage said proceedings. In contested hearings, you will be expected to represent yourself when necessary.
  • Prepare matters and documents for any type of legal proceeding and carry out any administrative or statutory duties that the Client typically requires of Legal Services.
  • to actively support the values and procedures of opportunity equality as outlined in the Equalities Policy of the organisation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives
  • Experience and knowledge of work within the functional area
  • Practical knowledge of public law
  • Full driving license
