An exciting opportunity to work at the Colorectal Unit based at University Hospital of Wales. Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in General and Lower GI Colorectal to commence on 1st August 2021 until 31st July 2022.A wide variety of colorectal procedures are undertaken including specialist tertiary work such as laparoscopic colonic resection, transanal endoscopic microsurgery, intestinal failure and pelvic floor including sacral nerve stimulation.The unit has an active multidisciplinary meeting with all specialities in attendance including geneticists and liver surgeons. There is a dedicated colorectal theatre and a dedicated in-patient ward. The colorectal specialist nurse team compromises of 6 staff members who provide counselling, stoma care (hospital and community) and an anorectal physiology service. Oncology is delivered at our neighbouring Velindre hospital.The surgeons support the colonoscopy service with one of the surgeons undertaking colorectal screening lists.
