Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Advisor for a market leader in Cardiff. This role would be predominately office based and you would be working from their purpose built Forensic Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior Nurse with experience in teaching/mentoring to take on a slightly different role and utilise their skills by providing high profile, visible clinical expertise to nursing teams as directed by the Director of clinical services.Essential criteria of a Clinical Nurse Advisor:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse.
  • Extensive experience at a senior level of nursing.
  • Previous experience teaching/training Nurses
  • Good organisational skills
  • Key responsibilities of a Clinical Nurse Advisor:
  • To ensure standards of care are maintained within policies and legislation.
  • To promote and implement evidence based practice and current forensic nursing developments.
  • To promote an open, supportive culture, based on honest and reflective practice.
  • To actively and positively challenge practice to continuously improve the standard of nursing care delivery.
  • Liase with mentors and supervisors in determining knowledge and competency levels of nursing staff.
  • Ensure that all nursing staff have access to up to date information on clinical and research developments
  • Attend forums, Nursing Departmental meetings and other meetings as directed.
  • Undertake nursing audit as requested
  • Support the Ward Managers in actioning the outcomes of nursing audit.
  • Support the delivery of the Hospitals Business Plan through the nursing Service Level Agreement and Nursing Strategy.
