Job Description

Clinical Negligence LawyerYolk Recruitment Public Sector and Not-for-Profit are working with a nationally known organisation to support them in finding a Clinical Negligence lawyer to join their team on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This is a remote role but travel to office locations may be necessary at times. What the Clinical Negligence Lawyer will be doing:As a Solicitor, to act in a minimally supervised role building on experienced gained as a newly qualified solicitor. You will also be responsible for:

  • Day to day management of clinical negligence claims
  • To consider when expert advice is required, to identify suitable medical and non-medical experts within differing specialities to provide independent expert reports to assist in the investigation.
  • To liaise with other third parties, Claimants, and Co-Defendants Solicitors
  • To take detailed and accurate notes of meetings, court hearings, inquests and case conferences
  • Provide occasional guidance to junior members of the team such as trainee solicitors and paralegals as required
  • Reviewing patients medical records in order to identify members of staff implicated in the claims, to gain knowledge of the clinical issues, to identify what further information is needed to investigate the claim
What the Clinical Negligence Lawyer will bring to the team:
  • Law Degree & Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience, post qualification, in clinical negligence/personal injury gained through practice
  • Experience of making presentations to non-legal staff.
  • Experience in drafting documents and advice to clients
  • Ability to recognise own capabilities
  • Evidence of excellent client care skills.
