We pride ourselves on delivering a specialist service that recognises the uniqueness of every client;all with very different aspirations and challenges.Essential - Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and the ability to drive and have use of a car.We are looking for warm, patient and reliable Child Therapy Assistants/Support Workers to support a 15-year-old boy who sustained a brain injury as a baby. As a result of his injuries he has complex needs, including behavioural, cognitive and physical.Our client is a sociable, friendly young man with a great sense of humour. He attends a special educational school and requires additional 2:1 support out of school so that he can enjoy social activities and engage in therapy. He loves to be active and busy,enjoying walking, swimming and watching films. He can be nervous when trying something new but with support he will try activities such as canoeing and skiing. Our client requires some assistance with personal care, however in the main he needs support toengage in therapy, leisure activities and to further develop his life skills.During school holidays the hours are likely to be increased to provide extra support and to accompany him on day trips further afield to places such as Oakwood and Longleat.Ideally you will have experience of providing support to a person who has sustained a brain injury. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a therapy student or psychology graduate who will enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team, supportingwith the clients therapy programme and assisting with his behaviour and care management plans.Our clients new Child Therapy Assistant/Support Worker is enthusiastic, fun, reliable and flexible. You are calm and patient under pressure and able to apply a consistent approach.Full induction and training will be provided.This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check.
