The Cardiff site is our client’s global centre of excellence for the custom chemical synthesis of drug and complex chemical substances radiolabelled with tritium or carbon-14, offering radiolabelled custom synthesis service to clients in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and industrial sectors.   • The first position they are seeking to fill is an exciting opportunity for a Radiosynthesis Chemist to join their Carbon 14 synthesis group.Responsibilities:The successful candidate will have responsibilities for
  • The synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds within agreed timeframes.
  • Perform in-process analytical testing.
  • Develop and redesign synthetic routes.
  • Liaise and build strong working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to future cost estimate generation.
  • Where appropriate, project management and support/mentor colleagues.
  • The Second role they are seeking to fill is an exciting opportunity for a Radiosynthesis Chemist to join their Tritium team.Responsibilities:The successful candidate will have responsibilities for
  • Synthesis and purification of custom Oligonucleotides.
  • Synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds within agreed timeframes.
  • Perform in-process analytical testing.
  • Liaise and build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to future cost estimate generation.
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • PhD or MSc in (Synthetic) Organic Chemistry or Chemistry
  • Industrial experience is essential
  • Experience of a range of techniques including; small-scale synthesis, preparative HPLC, flash chromatography, crystallisation and a range of analytical techniques
  • Experience and track record as a practising synthetic chemist
  • Experience of chromatographic techniques
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
  • Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to problem solve
  • Willing to get involved with new ideas and initiatives
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
