Job Description

*Benefits and employment caseworker**Flexible home working - 40 hours a week**£24,981 - £27,041*We are working on behalf of a well-established charity who are interested in meeting those that would like to make a difference to the gypsy and travellers community. This is an exciting role where you will advise and support on issues such as employment,gaining new skills and benefit claimants. Our client is looking to eradicate discriminatory behaviours towards gypsies and travellers, and it needs your help to do this. We are particularly interested in speaking to those with a background of housing, tenancyor floating support work. About the role

  • You will be supporting gypsies and travellers to enter employment or other activities that maximise the chances of employment such as education, training and volunteering.
  • You will be improving access to training and employment agencies for gypsies and travellers and encourage understanding of gypsy and traveller needs and culture
  • You will encourage and facilitate involvement by gypsies and travellers in expressing and/or meeting their own needs through support and enabling work practices
  • You will contribute and support the organisations delivery of its core aim and objectives
The ideal candidate
  • To be educated at a minimal level 3 NVQ or A level
  • 2 years working in a relevant field such as housing, tenancy or floating support work
  • Experience of planning, facilitating and delivering group work sessions
  • Experience in assisting clients to achieve their personal goals
  • Experience in managing complex and difficult situations
  • Experience in analysing individual situations and forming reports
  • A full drivers licence and access to your own vehicle
