Job DescriptionYour role at a glanceAs Assistant Finance Manager, you will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting & Controls team. You will be responsible for delivering a consistent and effective approach to implementing risk and internal regulatory requirements across the wider LGIMFinance team, while championing the improvement of current processes and embedding policies into the team. As part of the Financial Reporting & Controls team you will also be responsible for supporting ad hoc financial reporting requirements as necessary. This role is ideal for those looking to increase their exposure across Finance. You will need to work proactively with stakeholders building productive relationships and engaging on important topics. Within LGIM Finance you will work with Revenue, Expensesand Commercial Finance teams, and contact with teams across LGIM and Legal and General (Group Treasury, Risk, Audit, Compliance). What youll be doing

  • You will be timetabling and taking responsibility for the delivery of LGIM Finances internal governance and risk requirements including RCSA, OneSumX and operational resilience deliverables.
  • You will be facilitating a forward-thinking approach to Finances risk and control environment by being the main point of contact for both Finance and Second-Line, in raising and closing any Risk Events, Issues and Actions, as well as running monthly reports,analysing risk and control data and managing stakeholders.
  • You will be driving the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process across Finance by interpreting requirements from the second line, engaging team leaders on their areas and ensuring consistency in delivery across owners,
  • You will be Delivering the Operational Resilience (regulatory) requirements, including scenario testing, updating impact assessments and contingency plans.
  • You will collaborate on and deliver projects across the wider Finance team around governance, process improvements, transformation, policy implementation and other regulatory or audit objectives.
  • You will direct implementation of actions from audits and other reviews within timeframes required.
  • You will be supporting the wider financial reporting and risk team as required alongside managing the risk requirements.
Qualifications
  • The jobholder should be a self-starter who is able to take a lead role in driving the risk agenda across the wider LGIM Finance team. They should be able to prioritise tasks, be well organised and take ownership of the tasks at hand.
  • This role requires the jobholder to build relationships with stakeholders across LGIM and the wider L&G Group to drive the delivery of activities in the team. The jobholder should therefore have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate will need the acumen to evaluate detailed regulatory information.
  • The ability to present risk based information to others with focus and clarity will be required.
  • A working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required for this role. The role holder will be expected to develop SME knowledge of OneSumX, Power BI, and other tools utilised in the team. The job holder will become a super-user who will be a pointof contact for the team on these.
  • The jobholder should show a willingness to openly share views and findings with other team members and a desire to take an active role in team meetings and discussions with management.
  • The jobholder will be required to manage a variety of different deliverables concurrently. The ability to cope with multiple deliverables within deadline is therefore a key skill for this role.
  • Strong written skills are a key requirement of this role, and the role holder should be comfortable with both key financial concepts and report writing.
