Whilst the role would be Work From Home initially, there will be a need to provide some level of on-site support in the future.We believe that this role will appeal to self-motivated individuals who are keen to further develop existing skills, to develop additional skills and learn new ways of working within a dynamic, fun and friendly environment. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager and working within an Agile environment, the successful applicant for this opportunity will carry out a variety of activities and gain exposure to a broad range of projects. The role will provide exposure to several cloud-based technologies and will also include some DevOps related functions.Supporting the virtual desktop environment, print and telephony systems, we anticipate that the successful applicant for this exciting 2nd / 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer role will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:*the provision of 1st and 2nd Line Support would be key to the success of this position, with experience of providing 3rd Line Support also of great interest.*support virtual estate, back-end systems and services to the business.*implementation and monitoring of system alerts to ensure any failures receive immediate attention.*provision of out of hours / stand-by support for scheduled maintenance and system failures.*identifying new system hardware and software needs.*ensure that support tickets are appropriately recorded.*maximising availability (uptime) of essential services.*scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.*ensure the security of the estate is not compromised.*resolve incidents with agreed service levels.*assist / lead on projects as required.*assist with supporting and maintaining any cloud-based technology.*assist with supporting and maintaining network and telephony.*assist with supporting and managing any 3rd party supplier relations.From a technical standpoint, to prove successful within this exceptional opportunity, we anticipate that the successful candidate will have knowledge / experience of the following:*Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 & 2019.*Windows Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Services.*Active Directory.*Exchange 2016.*VMware vSphere 5.5 and 6.7.*HP Servers, Storage and Networking Equipment.*Microsoft MSSQL 2016 *MySQL.*Sybase.*MongoDB.*Palo Alto Firewall.*IIS 8.5 and 10.*CentOS 7 / Linux.*Cloud based telephony system, such as Gamma Horizon.*Cloud based infrastructure, including AWS and Azure.From a personal standpoint, we also believe that the successful applicant for this opportunity will have the following:*be able to keep calm during crisis situations / event of a disaster.*a strong emphasis on customer service and quality.*the ability to solve problems and make decisions with good reasoning ability.*have strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills.*have an enthusiastic and positive work attitude.Experience with supporting the following hardware / software would also be advantageous:*HP Switches, File Server, Print Server, Group Policy, Virtual Estates, iOS (iPads, iMac’s, and MacBook’s), Mobile Devices (iOS and Android).Should you feel that you possess the skills, knowledge and experience to succeed within this exceptional opportunity for an experienced 2nd / 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer within a dynamic organisation on a fixed-term contract basis, then please press "Apply Now" or contact Ieuan Savage for further details.For the purposes of the Conduct Regulations 2003, when advertising permanent vacancies we are acting as an Employment Agency, and when advertising temporary / contract vacancies we are acting as an Employment Business.IT & Finance SectorsCF11 6PSCompetitive Pro Rata Salary Available Required skills
