Reed Education Cardiff is Currently recruiting for a Caretaker for one of our Secondary Schools based in the Cardiff area.The purpose of this role is to provide high quality service ensuring that staff and students work in a safe and well-maintained environment. This position is full time on a temp to possible perm basis, with a November 2021 start.Duties/Responsibilities: To deal with enquiries from teaching staff, students, parents, contractors and members of the public as well as the emergency services and when required. When on duty, effect emergency repairs when appropriate and/or refer such repairs to the estates manager when specialist contractors are required. To assist in preparation and running of key events such as open evenings, parents evenings, and interview days. To assist external visitors, especially contractors with access issues, ensuring that college Safeguarding Policy is complied with. To accept deliveries of goods and materials and store or deliver to appropriate area. To ensure that the College is a clean environment, working alongside externally contracted cleaners. To remove weeds from paved and tarmac areas and removal of rubbish from all areas surrounding the college. Minimising the dispersal of rubbish around the grounds by ensuring that litterbins are emptied regularly. To ensure that adequate quantities of toiletries e.g. toilet paper and liquid soap are kept in stock and working with the contract cleaners, distribute and replenish as required. To ensure that the college is open by 8am each day and that it is secure at the end of the day. To carry out security duties for the college buildings and grounds.
