Job Description

Workshop Controller & MOT Tester

  • £30,000 basic + £6,000 Bonus

Our client is a highly reputable dealer group with a network of both prestige and volume franchises. They are looking for a dedicated and motivated Workshop Controller who holds a MOT Tester Licence to lead their technicians.This is a unique role whereas you will concentrate 80% of your time on Workshop Controller duties and 20% doing MOTs.(if needed) i.e one to two MOTs a day max and the rest is all Controller Duties and running and managing the Workload and TechsThe RoleThe Workshop Controller is responsible for ensuring service and repairs are carried out effectively and accurately to achieve the highest possible standards for technical quality.Responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in the workshop.They liaise between the Service and the Technicians to ensure that all required work is actioned effectively and efficiently, keeping the customers expectations top of mind.Driven by exceeding targets and motivating the team to succeed would be a natural skill that our Workshop Controller possesses.Carry out 1-2 MOT Tests a Day (as and when needed) some days no MOTs will be needed.Role Requirements
  • To be a success in this role, you will have Technical Knowledge and qualifications relating to vehicle maintenance.
  • Previous experience of supervising or managing Technicians
  • Computer Literate
  • Completed Required Training Courses
  • Hold a MOT Tester Licence
Your Responsibilities
  • Monitor the Progress of repairs and service and communicate to the service advisor about any delays.
  • Check capacity in the workshop based on any additional work requirements.
  • Ensure that quality checks are carried out as per company and brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and give feedback on Technicians quality and efficiency.
  • Allocate work to Technicians.
