An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Gardener to join an established company located near Canterbury in Kent. The company has been in business for over 30 years - a testament to their continued provision of quality service in the gardening and landscape industry. This role presents a genuine opportunity to establish yourself as a committed professional, with the opportunity to become more involved with the business following exemplary performance and longevity in the role.Due to continued success, the company now requires an additional gardener to join the existing team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will work within the established team across approximately 20 sites between London and Kent. The role will involve tending to numerous, primarily domestic gardens on a scheduled, rotational and hands-on basis. In addition to the local sites, the post holder will be required to join the small team on the journey to London from the Canterbury area on 2-3 days per week to tend to clients’ gardens, which will involve leaving the depot in Canterbury at approximately 05:00 and returning for an early finish around 15:30. Typical working hours are between 06:00 - 15:00/16:00, Monday to Friday. The business closes down between Christmas and New Year.The ideal candidate will hold a recognised horticultural qualification and/or considerable gardening experience in a similar role. Applicants will need to be competent with a range of garden machinery and be presentable at all times. Typical daily duties will include hedge cutting, lawn maintenance, pruning, planting, bed/border maintenance, as well as a range of other gardening tasks as they arise. Competence with back-pack sprayers and a spray ticket (PA1/PA6) is desired.Candidates must have a positive attitude and work well within a team, be flexible in their approach to work, physically fit and have a can-do’ attitude. Uniforms are provided.
