An IT Technical Manager / IT Systems Manager with required for wide reaching position that is responsible for managing the operation of IT services for a successful and long established business based on the outskirts of Canterbury. Our client is a multi-sitedgroup with a diverse array of IT systems in use to support business operations for approx. 600 users.This multi-faceted role managing a small 3rd line support team and providing the technical advice and support for systems used within the data centres / business that can include being hands on as and when needed. In addition to managing the internal team theTechnical Manager will also manage third-party providers / suppliers as required, this includes contract negotiation, service delivery, procurement, general supplier relationship management etc.To be suitable for the position youd be expected to have previous experience managing IT operations for similar mid-sized business ensuring data centre and day to day services are available and performing as required. Youll also require experience managingan IT Support team as well as technical third-party suppliers including costs, contracts and service. On a technical front youll require broad knowledge and experience of building, administering and supporting software and hardware technology for data centre,virtualisation, server, storage, backup, applications, security etc and as such youd be expected to have skills with most of the following:Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2016, Microsoft Windows 7/10, Microsoft O365, SQL Server 2008 - 2016, Oracle, Citrix XenApp 7.15, Citrix PVS, SAN Storage, VMware, Veeam, Nutanix HCI, Netscaler, Cisco Networking - VLANs, VPNs, ISE. Server and client hardware(HP), Thin Client Technologies. A wide knowledge of IT and IT solutions. Experience in distributed networks and network management toolsIn return, our client can offer a competitive salary dependent on experience and likely to be in the region of £50,000 - £60,000 plus a benefits package that includes 25 days holiday and very good pension scheme.
