We are looking for motivated, dynamic individuals to join our friendly Breast Imaging Unit as Assistant Practitioners employed in “The Garden of England”.You will be working with a Consultant Radiographer, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Radiologists, Breast Clinicians, and the Surgical and administrative teams, who combine to provide a high quality breast service for the population of East Kent.The local NHS Breast Screening Programme is based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital with 3 mobile units and has a screening population of approximately 120,000 women.The Symptomatic service is run over the 3 main hospital sites at Canterbury, Ashford and Margate.This role involves taking mammograms within the screening and symptomatic services across East Kent.The successful candidate must either have completed a recognised Assistant Practitioner course as required by the NHSBSP or be willing to train complete a Level 4 mammography training course associated to St George’s National Breast Education Centre.These posts are equivalent to 1.6 wte (37.5 hrs/wk) with part or full time applicants being considered.Only female applicants can be considered for this post, in line with the defined exceptions in the Equality Act 2010, known as Genuine Occupational Requirements (GOQ).For further details / informal visits contact:Fiona McPartlin, Principal Radiographer Breast ImagingEmail address:Telephone number:722-4286
