Job Description

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Transformation Project Manager to work with one of our Local Authority clients in Cambridgeshire.What the job will be doing

  • To lead and manage the development and delivery of designated workstreams and project deliverables in accordance with the procedures and policies of the Council
  • To work in partnership with Heads of Service, Managers, technical experts, and key stakeholders to form and sustain an effective and collaborative working relationship
  • To lead a virtual team in the delivery of project plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the project.
  • To be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.Maintaining project documents and associated plans with regular reporting and team meetings to monitor progressand resources.
  • To ensure the expected benefits (cashable and non-cashable) are realised and sustainable for the future and work with project sponsors and senior stakeholders to agree robust benefits realisation plans.
What you will need
  • Extensive project management and leadership
  • Previous experience working in local government
  • Managing tasks and activities to deliver a specific outcome in accordance with legislation and Council policies and procedures eg GDPR and Organisational Change
  • A proven track record in resource management, and the ability to predict, track, analyse and report resourcing requirements to Senior Boards and Committees
  • Developing and managing a detailed project schedule and work plan, providing project updates and escalating as required on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about deliverables, adjustments, and progress.
  • LEAN practitioner, BCS Analysis Certification, PRINCE 2, AGILE or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
