Job Description

Target Validation ScientistLocation - CambridgeDuration - 9 month Fixed Term ContractOur client is an early stage drug development company based in Cambridgeshire. They currently have a position available for an experienced scientist to join the company on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC).The position will be supporting the target validation team in the development of new high-throughput assays. This will include:

  • Building complex high-throughput cellular assays for screening purposes
  • Driving research projects to meet agreed objectives.
  • Problem-solving assay development through different platforms and formats
  • Presenting and reporting on research
  • Suitable applicants will ideally be:
  • Previous industry experience in the development of cell-based assays for high-throughput screening
  • Experience with 96- and 384-well screening plates (HTRF, immunofluorescence)
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Good protein chemistry and molecular biology techniques including cloning and amplification
  • Educated to PhD level in a relevant biological discipline (or MSc with equivalent industry exposure).
  • Strong communications skills and ability to present research succinctly
