Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a Life Science company who working on new products comprising of laboratory instruments, consumables and accessories. To achieve this, the company is strengthening its new in-house product development team.Responsibilities:- Providing clever and novel fluidic and mechanical engineering designs to address the issues facing the design team- Constructing, testing and improving those designs, by embracing sound experimental-science methods hands-on in the laboratory and workshop- Managing the automation and interfacing of sub-components and whole instruments created both in-house and with partnersExperience / Qualifications- Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or other closely related technical discipline.- Laboratory equipment, diagnostics, medical devices (preferred)- Industrial design / ergonomics (collaborative work with appropriate consultants)- 3D modelling usingSolidworks- Material selection (including consideration of biocompatibility)- Mechanical Prototyping using variety of techniques- Simulation & Modelling (including Stress Analysis, Mould Flow Analysis) – Advantageous- Tooling design forinjection moulding- Manufacturing Process Design and Deployment- Maintenance of Bills Of Material (including volume costings)- Consumables sterilization processesSalary- £50,000 - £65,000 (DOE)If you are interested in the position above, please respond back with an updated CV and your interview availability via Skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams.If this role isnt what youre looking for dont worry, we cover all permanent and contract positions with specialist industry sector teams.
