Job Description

Senior IT Support Engineer - CambridgeshireA Senior IT Support Engineer with good working knowledge of Windows Server environments, Virtualisation tools such as VMware, and Networking knowledge is required by a leading global company within the Health and Safety industry, out of their Cambridgeshiresite.With this position you will be working on a number of IT Infrastructure related projects at an altruistic company that pride themselves on making the world a safer place.Key roles and responsibilities

  • Oversee a diverse range of IT projects, encompassing change management, resource allocation, and deployment.
  • Serve as the escalation point for the IT Operations Team, addressing complex technical issues 2nd line and above
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of networks and computer systems.
  • Coordinate and schedule updates, upgrades, and maintenance for both servers and client systems.
  • Perform laptop and desktop builds, installations, and support.
  • Assist in maintaining server room equipment, including backup devices, switches, routers, and servers.
  • Travel to various locations as needed to resolve issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all IT assets.
The Senior IT Support Engineers responsibilities encompass delivering a combination of initial and second line support to end-users whilst contributing to IT infrastructure initiatives across the business.Key Technical Skils Needed:
  • Proficiency in Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, server build, support, and migration tasks.
  • Windows 10 OS Support
  • Competence in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and Intune.
  • Administration of O365 Suite, - AzureAD, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • Administration skills for VMware ESXi and Hyper-V.
  • Strong background in networking - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, firewall mgmt
  • Ability to provide support and troubleshoot VOIP systems.
  • Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and restoring backup/disaster recovery solutions.
  • Proven IT Infrastructure Projects involvements around server, network, or cloud technologies.
  • Full UK Drivers licence
