This is a great opportunity to join a focused engineering team, developing cutting-edge consumer products in the pet industry. Specialising in design and development for both embedded hardware and firmware, you will also have exposure to all aspects of product design and manufacture.The Role:In this role, you will have the rare opportunity to support every stage of the product development cycle, from concept, through development and into product launch. The suitable candidate would likely be an experienced hardware and firmware engineer who also has a passion for the whole product design and manufacture.Specifically, the roll will encompass some or all of the following:* Hardware design and development* Component selection and evaluation* Schematic capture and PCB layout* Networking, hardware and firmware for Ethernet, Bluetooth Low Energy and other RF protocols* Sensor design and algorithm development* Product development in C, based primarily on the ARM Cortex-M architecture* Production Test Equipment development* Input into the mechanical design process* Hardware test, both functional and regulatory* Management of codebases for multiple products* Firmware testing and reviewing* Fault diagnosis and solution of technical issues across the product range* Firmware development using third party libraries, including library integration into existing project codebase* The role is office-based, but may occasionally require some international travelSkills and Experience:* 1st or 2:1 in engineering, physics, or a related discipline* Bright, adaptable, confident and enthusiastic about design of fantastic products* Can work well independently or as part of a team* Design and development of microcontroller-based systems including familiarity with typical embedded C compilers.
