Job Description

Project Leader – BioconjugationLocation: Cambridge, UKWe are recruiting for an experienced Bioconjugation Senior Scientist to join our client’s Bioconjugation Chemistry team in Cambridge. This is a lab-based role that will require you to work as part of a team on short-term projects. You will lead a small team of scientists and will be comfortable in a client-facing role.Person SpecificationIn this role you will need:

  • A PhD or MSc (or a lower level of qualification and relevant experience) in Chemistry/Protein Biochemistry or related science discipline.
  • Extensive laboratory skills and experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • An in-depth understanding of, and practical research experience with bioconjugation of small molecules and polymers to antibodies and proteins.
  • Experience in using a range of linker chemistries, purification using automated systems and membrane ultrafiltration , and analytical characterisation techniques such as column chromatography, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, microfluidics and LC-MS.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and specialist software including Chromeleon, Unify, MassLynx and ChemDraw.
  • A good understanding of the ADC field including drug development process.
  • The ability to lead a small team in a supportive and adaptable way and to contribute to the group development effort, undertaking advanced research and managing client projects professionally.
  • Draft and contribute to Quality and Controlled documents
  • Undertake any other relevant duties
