Job Description

Recruitment Hunters are recruiting for an Accounts Semi-Senior for a highly successful Accountancy Practice firm based by Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire.The progressive accountancy practice firm are looking for an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior who has experience of working within practice. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1-2 years experience working for another accountancy practice organisation and display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidenceand ability to establish credibility with partners and clients.Main Responsibilities:- Accounts Semi-Senior To assist in providing high quality accounting services for a multitude of clientsResponsibilities

  • Assist the Department Manager(s) with the day-to-day accounts for a selection of clients
  • Assist with statutory financial statements based on information supplied by clients
  • Bookkeeping duties required, so high attention detail is required
  • Assist in the preparation of business tax computations, partnership and personal tax returns & prepare corporation tax computations and forms CT600
  • Assist with general client enquiries regarding aspects of their bookkeeping and other business related matters as required
  • Assist with administrative tasks if necessary
  • Assist in the delivery of ad hoc projects and assignments
  • Identify points for the Department Manager to raise with clients and to raise potential areas for additional services including added value services and advice
  • Undertake ledger maintenance, supplier maintenance and management accounts preparation, as and when required
  • Assist with payroll duties for a selection of clients
  • Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts, acting in a proactive manner and ensuring attention to detail throughout
  • Provide support to trainees through on-the-job coaching and supervision of their work (Semi-Senior)
  • Make use of appropriate support networks to clarify knowledge and resolve queries on complex technical or software related matters

Critical Knowledge Required:
  • In depth accounts preparation knowledge - 1 - 2 years experience
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and their uses and benefits
Qualifications RequiredEssential: AAT qualified or equivalent or ACCA/ACA Part-QualifiedEssential Experience Required : Similar role within an Accountancy Practice FirmEssential: Minimum of 1 - 2 years proven accounts experience within a practice environment.Desirable: Experience with using a Excel, CCH Central and Xero would be great - or similarOther Requirements
  • Live within commuting distance near Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire
  • Work outside normal hours as required - Standard Flexi hours are 8.30 - 5.00 or 9.00 - 5.30 Monday to Friday - Currently this person will be required to work 5 days from the office in Cambridgeshire, in the future some remote working will be incorporated
  • Travel to client and other locations as required
  • Driving license is essential
The Accounts Semi-Senior role is a permanent position and is based near the Bar Hill, Cambridge office. The salary will be £20,000 - £25,000 PA Depending on Experience + Company Benefits. The firm would also look to support study after aperiod of time.
