They are renowned for their commitment to producing top-quality young plants from cuttings and are now expanding this intoproducing from seeds.As a Seedling Production Manager you will play a pivotal role in their mission to provide top-quality seedling plugs and expand their product range. Your responsibilities will encompass:*Collaborate with the procurement manager to identify seed quality requirements and cost considerations for various varieties.*Efficiently manage seed line planning to ensure smooth sowing operations that align with overall business activities.*Become the primary seed line operative, working closely with colleagues to maintain equipment efficiency.*Develop and implement data recording systems to streamline product processing time and improve germination rates, ultimately reducing seed costs.*Enhance existing procedures and documentation, actively communicating opportunities for improvement to management and colleagues.*Maintain accurate records associated with seed production, ensuring data integrity.*Monitor germination rooms and greenhouse-based germination processes to deliver the highest quality and consistency at dispatch.*Uphold compliance with quality standards, policies, and health and safety regulations.*Manage seed stores effectively to minimize degradation losses among aged seed, promptly identifying and addressing potential issues.*Contribute to the overall efficiency and cohesion of the team.*Undertake other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager.Required Skills:*Proven experience in horticultural production, particularly with young plants/starter material or in the seed industry.*Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to focus on granular aspects of the production process.*Capability to supervise a small team while maintaining clear, courteous, and professional communication with colleagues.*Results-oriented mindset, capable of meeting tight deadlines and targets, and driven to exceed them.*Team player with strong time management and workload prioritization skills.*Basic proficiency in Excel and Word, and the ability to understand and operate technology at a fundamental level.*A driving license is desirable but not essential.*PA1 and PA6 certifications are desirable but not essential.To explore this opportunity further, please apply now or contact Chris Beal on or email
