Job Description

QA Tester | Hybrid/Remote | Life Sciences | up to £53kA world-leading life sciences organisation is looking for a data-focused QA Tester to join of their most exciting and growing teams! Your work will be contributing to the improvement of tracking and efficiency of genomic sequencing for diseases that will improvehealthcare and the approach to controlling and ultimately eliminating these diseases, whilst also getting to join a company that is proactive in its approach to personal and professional development, giving you opportunities to excel in all aspects!Youll be working within an Agile environment, ideally have exposure to both manual and automation testing of various data validation scenarios and testing transformation processes (ETL). This position will give you great a great opportunity to be autonomousin your approach to testing, whilst also being highly collaborative with other teams. Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing/maintaining testing scripts (both manual and automated) for validation of data sources, applying transformation logic, loading data into target tables.
  • Working closely alongside the data engineering team to ensure approaches are efficient and sustainable.
  • To ensure that issues and bugs are captured within correct tools to allow fixes and releases to be delivered and escalated where necessary.
  • Working in an Agile environment and collaborating with Lead QA, Data Engineering and Business Systems teams (to name a few) regularly.
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of testing within Python
  • Experience with modern testing and development methods (TDD, BDD, CI/CD) and products (Selenium, Mocha, Gitlab)
  • Exposure to and knowledge of various data engineering tools (Spark, Hadoop etc.)
  • Worked with data validation scenarios
  • Familiarity of back/front-end languages, libraries, APIs and is desirable but not essential
