Our client, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of connectivity solutions based in Cambridge, are recruiting for a Purchasing Administrator to join their expanding team.Purpose of Role:* Regularly reviewing the supplier back-order reports, updating the system accordingly, and communicating any potential issues to the relevant members of the purchasing and planning teams* Working with the purchasing team to review inbound delivery dates and update the system according to most up to date information, and updating planning of critical changes* Regularly reviewing open orders and progressing/closing/updating the system as necessary* Maintaining supplier price list and lead-time information* Assisting with job releasing, lead time queries and general Production Planning duties as and when necessary* Be able to provide sickness/holiday cover for the Production Planning function, purchasing department and buyers where necessaryDimensions of Role:* To work closely with Purchasing Expediting, Production Planning, and the Buyers to ensure that the system is as up to date as possible and in line with rescheduled deliveries.* Regularly reviewing inbound shipments from overseas suppliers to ensure the planning team have the most up to date information. Providing cover and assistance within the team as required.Accountability:* Regularly review supplier order backlog reports, update the ERP system accordingly, and communicate any potential issues to the relevant members of the purchasing and planning teams as necessary* Working with the purchasing team to review inbound delivery dates and update the system according to most up to date information, and updating planning of critical changes* Other Purchasing and Planning related activities as required to support the team* Regularly reviewing open orders and progressing/closing/updating the system as necessary* Maintain supplier price lists, supplier lead-timesKey Relationships:* Primary relationship with Purchasing, Production Planning and suppliers* Secondary relationship with StoresKey Challenges:* Needs to be able to prioritise work effectively within a time-sensitive environment* Needs to be able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally, and to be persuasive when required* Needs to establish staff and supplier relationships that facilitate and preserve these objectivesPerson Specification:* Educated to a minimum of A level standard or equivalent with Purchasing and Planning experience, preferably within electronics* Numerate and articulate with strong interpersonal skills* Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to investigate material shortages* Good prioritisation and time management skills* Tenacious and persuasive* A confident communicator with a can do attitude* Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative and as part of the teamFor a more detailed brief and role profile please apply now
