Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager / Product Engineer to join a dynamic south Cambridgeshire based company developing an array of products for the medical & healthcare industry. The company is growing at 30% a year offering many opportunitiesfor personal career development in addition to a wide variety of new and challenging projects to work on.As the Product Manager, you will join their Product Management team to support their product improvements, engineering change and innovations for their diverse range of products. The job will suit a friendly, diligent and motivated Engineer with a backgroundin Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Quality Assurance.Job Title: Product Manager / Product EngineerProduct Manager / Product Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Working on product improvement, resolving and documenting product faults, manufacturing problems and inefficiencies.
  • Technical complaint handling, investigation, documentation and risk management.
  • Management of internal testing, specifying and implementing solutions.
  • Management of Engineering Change, value improvement and re-engineering of existing products to include newer, safer and more economic materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Developing, maintaining and updating medical device build specifications and documentation such as CAD drawings, user manuals, labelling.
  • Help improvement in quality of products and their customer experience.
  • Assist the sales and purchasing department to resolve technical issues.
Product Manager / Product Engineer Requirements:
  • BTEC, HNC or HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or maybe Industrial Design, Quality Assurance.
  • Experience within medical device regulatory and compliance requirements (BS EN ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, BS EN ISO 14971 etc.)
  • Ability to create, modify, updating parts and assemblies using 3D CAD is essential (Solidworks, SolidEdge, Autodesk Inventor, Catia etc.)
  • Strong hands-on tools and bench experience including metal working or welding.
  • Sound understanding of technical manufacturing with an ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, instructions and other product definition documents.
  • Basic understanding of medical regulatory standards.
  • Good communication skills both spoken and written for report writing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, time management and ability to multi-task.
  • Full UK driving licence - travel to suppliers and subcontractors will be necessary
Vacancy Location: South West Cambridgeshire / Hertfordshire border (Commutable from Cambridge, St Neots, Letchworth, Hitchin, Bedford, Huntingdon, etc.)Salary: £30000-45000 plus benefits
