Job Description

Currently recruiting for a Pilot Technician for a leading materials manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire, to be based within the Materials Manufacturing Team. As a Pilot Technician you will be provide technical support within the pilot plant team to introducenew products and processes to the pilot plant, including process improvement and equipment maintenance. You will also be responsible for managing pilot trials, and the safe running of the pilot plant and various pilot plant equipment, including risk identificationand risk management, as well as raw materials selection and storage.To be considered for this Pilot Technician, you will be degree educated in Mechanical, Materials or Chemical Engineering. You will also ideally have previous industrial experience spent within production/manufacturing in a similar role within the materialsor wider chemicals industry.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pilot trials using various pilot plant equipment.
  • Deliver pilot plant results to the wider organisation and internal teams including R&D, Production and Quality.
  • Manage the safe running of pilot plant trials including risk identification and risk management.
  • Responsible for raw materials selection and storage.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the pilot plant using various continuous improvement tools.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Degree educated in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
  • Previous industrial experience working within materials or polymer manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Previous pilot plant experience also is preferred.
