We have a superb opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer / Prototype Development Engineer to join a Cambridgeshire based R&D company that focuses on developing cutting-edge products that will make a fundamental impact on the medical / diagnostic industry.As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical component and systems design from concept development to new product introduction including modelling, design of prototypes and fixtures, material selection, assemblies, testing, qualitymanagement, troubleshooting and repairs of systems, modification, and improvements to existing design, supporting the product launch.This is a great chance for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer (ideally, but NOT essentially, with Medical / Diagnostic Device experience) to join a growing business where you can be mentored by industry leaders and develop a rewarding career making a directcontribution to advanced technology.Mechanical Engineer`s RequirementsDegree (BEng or MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Recent 2-5 years hands-on experience in Mechanical Design of components and assemblies, working with materials in a manufacturing environment.Practical experience in 3D CAD (Solidworks is preferred) and knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing techniques.Experience working with electromechanical, thermal and fluidic systemsExperience with Python and MATLAB are desirable.Skills in machining and soldering as well as experience with optical systems are advantage.Salary: £40-50k + excellent benefits package, a good relocation package is available (if applicable)Vacancy location: Cambridgeshire (commutable from Cambridge, Royston, Newmarket, Huntingdon, Bishops Stortford, Stevenage, etc)
