Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for one of the UK`s leading R&D / Technology Development Companies. This is a job for a bright Engineer with a background in the design of complex instrumentation, scientific devices or consumer healthcareproducts. You will use your Mechanical Engineering skills to develop innovative real world products -often incorporating novel and disruptive technologies that transform the market. This is a highly varied role and will involve working on numerous projectssimultaneously within multi-disciplinary teams -boredom will never be an issue!In this hands-on design role you will make a direct contribution to advanced technology and engineering design for the development of new products, providing technical and opinion leadership as you contribute to project teams.RequirementsA 1st class or Upper 2nd BEng/MEng degree from a leading university in mechanical engineering or related discipline.A very strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including analytical, theoretical, experimental and creative capabilities.A track record of creating insight that sets the direction in research, design, technology or advanced product development projects.Highly proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks is preferred) and knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing techniques.Ability to design plastic injection moulded parts is an advantage.A strong ability to communicate the value of your work confidently and authoritatively to senior business leaders across client organisationsExperience of leading novel mechanical device development projects would be an advantage -we are happy to consider applicants at varying levels of seniority ranging from Engineer to Project Leader.Salary: Excellent Salary+ BensJob Title: Mechanical Design Engineer/Senior Mechanical Design EngineerVacancy location: Cambridgeshire (commutable from Cambridge, Royston, Newmarket, Huntingdon, Bishops Stortford, Stevenage, etc)
