This is a rapidly growing company with a bulgingorder book for their World-class products so you can expect lots of fascinating projects, loads of variety and superb career progression.Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Complex electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation), £35k - £45k + excellent package, Cambridge area.Responsibilities:Hands-on Mechanical design of the companys bespoke special purpose scientific equipment.Creation of detailed models and drawings suitable for manufactureNew product R&D supported by a strong team of experienced EngineersDefining and executing Test PlansFMEA and risk analysis reportsProject Management and acting as mentor to junior staffProjects are conducted at both Group and local levels so occasional travel is expectedThe CandidateThis role is suitable for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid background in CAD based mechanical design for high value, low volume complex electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation. Your likely background will have come from workingin one or some of these sectors: Scientific Instruments, Semiconductor, Ceramics, Medical Devices, Healthcare systems, Pharmaceutical machinery, laboratory, industrial automation, instrumentation, environmental Instrumentation, Plasma Coatings, high vacuumsystems, PECVD, MOCVD, CVD systems, etc)As Mechanical Design Engineer, your skills, experience and qualifications will need to include several of the following:Degree ( BEng or MEng ) in Mechanical Engineering or similar/equivalent qualification/experience3D CAD design experience (ideally ProE / Creo or Solidworks or similar)Knowledge of material science would be beneficialExperience developing complex assemblies, some hands on assembly and testing experienceExperience in vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, automation an advantage.Professional registration with a relevant Engineering body encouraged and preferred.PC literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)Accurate, thorough, consistent, pro-active, assertive but definitely a team playerGood written and verbal communication skillsLocation: rural Cambridgeshire -commutable from Cambridge, Huntington, Peterborough, Bedford, Wellingborough, Newmarket, etc)KEYWORDS: Mechanical Design for Complex instrumentation. 3D CAD ( Solidworks , ProE or Creo ) Experience of high vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, industrial automation systems, special purpose machinery.
