Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance EngineerLocation: PeterboroughShifts: 4on 4off Days only & 4on 4off Nights onlyCompany Overview: At our company, we are driven by a noble purpose - to help feed the world. Dueto our continued growth, we are expanding our team and looking to hire Maintenance Engineers for our Peterborough, Bristol, and Hams Hall (Colehill) depots. These engineers will play a critical role in providing preventative and reactive maintenance for ourelectrical and mechanical equipment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime, and enhancing plant reliability.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address challenges and ensure the smooth operation of our facility.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and assessments on electrical components, motors, wiring, and electronic machinery according to industry standards.
  • Maintain, repair, and evaluate refrigeration systems, building infrastructure, and material handling equipment.
  • Complete work order tasks and ensure comprehensive documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Operate welding equipment for cutting and joining metal parts.
  • Supervise contractors working on or near refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Utilize motorized lifts and other equipment as required for inspections and maintenance.
  • Occasional work at heights of up to 30 meters.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering with Mechanical Engineering experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience working with automation systems.
  • Apprenticeship training is a significant advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve skills.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment (approximately -20 degrees Celsius) with provided PPE.
