Job Specification For: Junior Technician Meyer Scott Ref: VR/07839 Dry Drayton GBP8.72 p/h Temp Ongoing (Potentially permanent for right candidate) Our new client are a pet technology specialist and provide pet products that empower owners to care for their pets in entirely new ways. Founded in 2007, they have developed an award winning range of microchip-operated pet doors and feeders, which solve many problems commonly experienced by pet owners. In 2017 the company expanded its product range to include connected devices designed to provide proactive pet care by giving owners data and insight into their pets day to day behaviours, activities and routines. Over time, this information will provide pet owners a greater understanding of their pets health and wellbeing. They sell direct through retail stores and veterinary practices in 35 countries. They are currently looking or a junior technician to join their team at their modern premises in Dry Drayton Just outside Cambridge. Duties to include : · Testing of Units returned by customers and recording of results · Modify and test units according to standard written procedures. (This may involve basic mechanical and electrical steps, use of programming units and laptops) · Assist the engineering Department in product testing and development. · Looking after deliveries to stores, (this may involve some manual lifting) · Any other reasonable request by management or Supervisor Key competencies : · Completion of standard mechanical tasks to a high standard, using tools such as Dremel Drills, Sanders and Glue Guns · Basic soldering ability for tasks such as soldering wires to PCBs · Computer literacy including use of Microsoft such as outlook and Word · Ability and a strong desire to develop and learn new skills Qualifications: · Ideally 4 or 5 GCSE Grades at (A* to C) or equivalent Required experience and skills : · Ideally one years experience as a technician in a role involving the key competencies mentioned above Preferred Experience and skills: · Soldering of small components on to PCBs · Use of spreadsheets (Microsoft excel) · Experience using basic electrical tools such as power supplies and digital multimetres Working hours: 09.00 - 17.30 Mon-Thu 09.00 - 15.00 (approx.)
