Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Operations Technician based in Cambridge, to join a world-leader in network development for Internet of Things ("IoT") communications.This opportunity would be ideal for a candidate seeking a new challenge with the opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a fantastic business.The Junior Operations Technician, Cambridge, will report into the Operations Manager. The Junior Operations Technician, will be a hands-on technician with in depth knowledge and first hand experience in the following areas:

  • Taking completed designs from Hardware team and from production orders and then kitting the components required to get the systems built.
  • Responsibility for the complete supply chain from orders to shipping.
  • Handling of PCB, component and assembly purchasing and the scheduling and progressing of the builds including all testing and packaging.
  • Requirement to source and purchase 3rd party items such as cables.
  • Assist the engineering team with project hardware builds and simple board design (although this wouldnt be essential).
The Junior Operations Technician, Cambridge, will have at least 4 years experience in a similar role, along with:
  • A basic understanding of electronics and components.
  • Soldering.
  • Fault finding of circuit boards.
  • Ability to produce a prototype circuit on strip board if presented with a circuit diagram.
  • Ability to test circuits if given suitable direction.
