We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity within our R&D - Innovation department at our Cambridge location. We are actively seeking a dynamic and talented Innovation Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.Key Responsibilities:Support early-stage development of new product technologies.Collaborate with innovation, science, design, and manufacturing professionals while closely working with consumer research.Create cutting-edge technology through the design, build, testing, data collection, and optimisation of proof-of-principle science and technology test systems.Skills Required:Ability to integrate heating, sensing, and control methods within mechanical and/or electronic systems to create innovative early-stage technologies.Experience in designing, building, and testing electromechanical prototypes.Proficiency in working in a lab environment.Knowledge of CAD (preferably Solidworks and/or Creo).Statistical data analysis skills.Expected to be available for in-office work 5 times a week.Desirable:Practical understanding of physics, thermodynamics, materials science, sensing, and control.Basic software and hardware development skills for controlling test systems.Contract Details: Location: Cambridge, UK.Contract Length: 3 - 10 months - High possibility of getting extended.
