Job Description

We offer real-time nanopore-based DNA/RNA sequencing technology: accessible, easy to use and fully scalable for any requirement. We are looking for a hard-working and innovative Front End Web Developer to join our Metrichor team in Cambridge.The Details...Collaborating with the Associate Director, Metrichor the successful candidate will have an impact the development of customer facing front end UI tools and services of the EPI2ME platform that support downstream, real-time analysis and reporting of experimentaldata from our sequencing devices. Playing an active role in driving user engagement through end-to-end user centric solutions, from technical design to implementation, testing and release to our customer facing portal.Key Responsibilities include:- EPI2ME analysis reports - redesign or develop new interactive bioinformatics analysis reports - Framework for development and deployment of custom analysis reports (Report Builder) - Working with colleagues and stakeholders to build and develop specifications - Creating and working on tasks, that are assigned within the current sprint, using Jira - Contributing code to GitLab and performing code reviews for other team membersDuties include:- Development of Report Builder - Developing new customer-facing features - Building re-usable code, components, and libraries - Optimising apps and services for high efficiency, speed, scalability, and accessibility - Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop requirements for new features - Implementing tools and services on a variety of device form factors, from mobile to desktopWhat Were Looking For...Well expect you to have a proven track record of delivering customer facing web applications and a proven background in working with modern front-end development frameworks. Youll have prior experience of a CI/CD environment as a member of an agile team.Youll also have a degree in a computer science related subject area and be proficient in:- JavaScript (vanilla, ES6), HTML, CSS - Git - one of Angular.React/StencilJS - Typescript - Jest/Karma test frameworksCandidates will also be able to display skills in the following areas: - Cloud platform deployment (AWS) - Development for Mobile - understanding of NodeJS - data visualisation experience - Electron - Webpack / Rollup - Web components - Gitlb CI/CDYou will be a good communicator and confident about discussing technical matters with non-technical colleagues and customers. Youre results orientated with a positive can-do attitude who is able to work autonomously and as part of the team.
