Job Description

Formulation ScientistLocation - CambridgeshireSector - BiologySalary - £25,000 - £28,000 dependent on experienceFull time, permanent roleOur client is a leading gene synthesis company based in Cambridgeshire, offering an opportunity within the R&D team to support with the Formulation of nanoparticles for gene delivery.The RoleThe primary function of the role is to support the ongoing development of the non-viral delivery platform. Working within the Research and Development team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Formulation, characterisation and validation of novel nanoparticles for gene delivery
  • Execute high-quality projects according to project plans
  • Maintain an accurate and complete record of laboratory work performed
  • To use and maintain company equipment in accordance with the companys SOPs and health & safety guidelines
  • To undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holders skills and experience as requested
Skills and Experience NeededAn ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in nanoparticle production, characterisation (e.g. DLS, electron microscopy, SAXS or SANS) and downstream process (e.g. purification, sterilisation, long-term storage) techniques.
  • Prior industry experience in a GMP accredited laboratory
  • Experience with gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid quantification assay and microfluidic technologies
  • Knowledge of Molecular level chemistry - Molecular modelling and chemical synthesis
  • MSc or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related life science field
  • Good communication skills and ability to analyse and present data effectively.
