Food Machinery TechnologistSalary £45,000 pa to £50,000 pa - CambridgeshireA unique and exciting opportunity for a Food Machinery Technologist to join a Global business that develops industry leading machinery and systems used to manufacture the food products we see in our leading supermarkets.The individual appointed will immerse themselves in a Technical product area that will see them develop their skillset to the level of technical expert, allowing them to confidently support customers within the Food Manufacturing sector.This role will involve Product Development from concept to customer handover, Process Development and the management of Customer trials within a specialist inhouse facility. There will be an opportunity to work with customers to understand the technicalchallenges they face with regard to Food Science and the Manufacturability of their products. The Food Machinery Technologist will draw on their experience of Food Technology and Process Machinery to create project proposals that, once implemented, will fulfilthe customers requirements.The Food Machinery Technologist will galvanise their knowledge of raw ingredients and finished products specifically within areas such as: Bakery, Biscuits, Cookies, Cereals, Pasta, Ready to Eat Snacks, Starch based Snacks, Plant Proteins, Extruded Foods,Dry Petfoods. There will be an opportunity to work with Engineering Project teams and add influence to Projects that ensure new machinery being installed and commissioned manufacture products efficiently and to specification.This role will include keeping up-to-speed with food trends within your technical specialism, conducting market research, attending trade shows and NPD workshops to stay ahead of competition on new product launches. This will lead to implementing innovationsinto manufacturing processes, working with technical teams.The jobholder will experiment with Ingredients and Manufacturing capability and plan and co-ordinate trials using Food Extrusion techniques, referencing results for both customers and internal R&D. There will be a requirement to write reports with probableoutcomes and recommendations. Successful trials will be scaled up into full commercial specifications, enabling the business to sell new and improved Machinery to Food Manufacturing customers.It is expected Applicants will be educated to Degree/HND level in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Bioscience. Applicants should also have a background in developing Machinery and/or Foods covering the following categories: Bakery,Biscuits, Cookies, Cereals, Pasta, Ready to Eat Snacks, Starch based Snacks, Plant Proteins, Extruded Foods, Dry Petfoods. An understanding of Ingredient Functionality and Food Machinery Capability is also expected.The Salary for this role is £45,000 pa - £50,000 pa Negotiable Remuneration Package, including relocation assistance.
