Job Description

Our client are seeking a hands on finance leader who will roll up their sleeves to organise and develop a team, business partner with the Group Finance Director and other senior stakeholders aswell as supporting teams acrossthe entire business.The PersonThe ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) possessing a background in a fast-moving manufacturing business holding not only a high level of technical financial knowledge, but proven leadership skills developed in demanding settings.Areas of responsibility will include and not limited to:

  • Analyse and report on all aspects of the financial performance of the Company.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting regulations
  • Develop and implement accounting policies.
  • Assess, manage, and minimize financial risk at all levels.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Ensure monthly management accounts are prepared timely manner & provide commentary on key variances against budget & forecast
  • Ensure the accurate recording of VAT transactions, and submission of VAT returns
  • Ownership of fixed assets register and monthly depreciation calculations
  • Ownership of monthly accruals and prepayments schedules
  • Manage cash-flow, including all aspects of working capital (such as debtors, creditors, stock) and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare a cash flow forecast on a monthly basis
  • Ownership of balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly revenue reconciliation and completeness of income reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of the yearend accounts and where applicable liaise with external auditor/accountants
  • Support the CFO on selected high value projects cost control and reporting
  • Working with non-finance functions to assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Review debtors and management of credit control
  • Review payroll entries and resolve any issues with the external payroll provider
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reports as and when required, whilst driving change and automation of manual processes
  • Assist implementation of new IT systems
  • Oversee insurance and work closely with brokers/insurance providers.
  • Supervise, recruit, and train all members of finance team and accounting staff.
Cost of Goods Manufactured
  • Develop and maintain cost of goods workings for key products and production processes.
  • Monthly calculation and journal posting of COGS
  • Reporting on actual COGS with variance analysis against budgeted/forecasted costs
  • Prepare quarterly COGS forecast for key products and processes
Finance Business Partnering
  • Work with Operations department heads and project leads to help facilitate accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting.
  • Feedback to Manufacturing and Operations departments their actual results vs budget/forecast each month and perform variance analysis to understand the key drivers and reasons.
  • Add value by helping give Manufacturing and Operation departments financial insight into activities and highlighting cost savings.
