Job Description

Day Shift Engineers (Electrical Biased) Cambridgeshire Commutable from Huntingdon, Peterborough, St. Neots, Corby, Spalding, March, Corby12hr Shifts - 4on 4off Perm Days £46,000 + OvertimeOur client is a leading automated food warehouse & distribution company, the site is part of a larger global business. Due to growth and a further expansion, they are looking for a number of electrically biased engineers/maintenance electriciansto join their maintenance team.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all automated warehouse systems
  • Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance & root cause analysis
  • Working on conveyors, shuttle carts, automated retrieval cranes, turntables, sorters, control panels, bearings, motors, sensors, pneumatics, inverters, gearboxes, contactors, switches, shafts
  • Majority of workload will be mechanically biased to begin with, but the site is installing and developing a lot of automation with its main OEM, in turn the work will become more electrically focused.
  • Be part of a planned maintenance development team
  • Working at heights (34 metres) and in cold, sometimes freezer conditions (PPE provided)
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Improve plant reliability
  • Responsible for site services, shutter doors, refrigeration, facilities and site infrastructure
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Must be an electrically biased engineer / maintenance electrician
  • Comfortable working a height (34 metres), with use of ladders
  • Need to have an open approach, the site is fairly new, so still going through the development stage
  • Must be happy working in cold and freezer type conditions (Full PPE provided)
  • Need to have "hit-the-ground-running" experience in maintenance engineering
  • Comfortable and confident working with mainly mechanical faults initially
  • Ideally have worked in automated warehouse, distribution, food or FMCG manufacturing
  • Able to work both independently, unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Must have completed a time-served-apprenticeship, minimum NVQ Level 3
  • Strong electrical & mechanical diagnostics, PPM and reactive skills
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Dealt with sensors, motors, pneumatics, switches, contactors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives
  • Any experience with refrigeration, site services, facilities, building services would be beneficial
