Job Description

The Compliance team work to uphold the integrity and value of OCRs qualifications as well as ensuringour candidates receive the fair appeals process that they are entitled to. As a Compliance Officer you will be an integral part of this process, working on a daily basis with customers and colleagues to help to uphold the standards and regulations of our industryand ensuring that our candidates can be proud of the qualifications they have achieved.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about ensuring fairness for all individuals involved in the malpractice and appeals processes. Joining an established team of Compliance Officers, your role is to investigate and make decisions on cases of suspectedmalpractice or non-compliance; gather evidence, provide support, and respond to customer enquiries regarding appeals; and to support other processes in the wider Compliance team as required.The RoleReporting to an Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will work primarily on malpractice within the Compliance team but potentially, dependent on volume, also on appeals cases. The main responsibilities will be:

  • Investigate and make decisions on issues of malpractice related to OCR qualifications in accordance with established procedures
  • Liaise with centres to provide and obtain information relating to on-going investigations
  • Inform relevant parties of progress and outcome of malpractice/compliance investigations
  • Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers
  • Support management and the Compliance team:
  • Provide timely and accurate information, data and analysis for draft correspondence, papers, reports, audits, projects, issues of compliance/malpractice and improvements when appropriate
  • Evaluate candidate appeals
About youQualifications
  • GCSE grade 5 English and Maths or equivalent
  • A levels or equivalent
  • Skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to understand, interpret and apply complex regulations
  • Have sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions within a framework
  • Can take the initiative and also know when to escalate for additional decision making
  • Good proven English and IT Skills
Experience
  • Experience of working successfully in a pressurised office environment
  • Making difficult decisions
  • Working to tight deadlines

For the summer series there are extended periods where no leave or very restricted leave is allowed.
