Job Description

Antony James Recruitment Ltd are delighted to have partnered with a innovative FMCG client in recruiting a Category Manager. You will be responsible for providing category management and insight for a number of categories and become a strategic partner tocustomers, driving profitable growth and increased market share.Main Duties

  • Develop and lead strategic and tactical category plans and reviews, encompassing range recommendations, NPD suggestions, product positioning, de-list advice, promotional strategy and retail implementation.
  • Utilise category, shopper and consumer trends and translate into actionable insights which deliver mutually beneficial growth#
  • Work closely with NPD and Commercial to deliver EPD and NPD
  • Evaluate promotional, NPD and ranging activity and ensure a culture of review and continual improvement is established
  • Drive a food culture throughout the business to ensure our culinary and food credentials are at the heart of everything we do
  • Communicate the outcomes from range reviews to all key business stakeholders including marketing, commercial, NPD & production
  • Work with other Category Managers to deliver key market reports e.g. Christmas/BBQ to meet agreed customer timelines
  • Facilitate and lead on any other projects such as sustainability, ethical and environmental ones as appropriate or required by the company and/or the customer.
Attributes and Qualification
  • Minimum 3 years experience of working in an FMCG environment, ideally within the food sector (although not essential) either in a commercial or category role
  • Experience using Nielsen/IRI/Kantar data and systems
  • Strong data interpretation and analysis skills - able to convert data into insight
  • Able to communicate complex data in a simple to understand way - both written and verbal
  • Advanced user in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commercial Understanding of meat manufacturing - a benefit
