Job Description

UK Business Development Manager Cambridgeshire £60,000-£80,000 + Commission + Co. Car/Allowance Our client is a global leading automation & technology solutions provider, working within the food, FMCG, e-commence and automated distribution industries. Due to global growth in Ecommerce and automation in food distribution, along with securing significant automation projects, amongst multiple clients in the UK, they are looking for a Business Development Manager.A role that will provide fantastic stability and opportunities to grow within a recently formed joint business venture, that has the backing of a multi-billion PLC company.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Looking for a motivated and dynamic business professional who will play an important part in growing revenue and reaching new industries in the UK
  • Travelling throughout the UK to customer sites to attend meetings, winning tenders and accounts
  • Identify new business opportunities, and assist in the preparation of quotes, costing calculations, tenders and play a key role in company development
  • Tender sales for projects in value of £500k to £10m
  • Develop and nurture customer relationships
  • Gain a full understanding of new customers businesses, research, meeting with them to understand how the operate, their values, growth plans & culture
  • Work with procurement in maintaining, developing and managing supplier relationships
  • Logging and maintaining all relevant customer and lead information in the CRM database
  • Understand the companies key products and communicate the benefits to potential clients
  • Ensure that handovers to the operations department and project managers are of excellent quality
  • Identify new automation and technology solutions to grow market share
  • Between tenders, maintain regular contact with the companies supply chain
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Excellent communication, networking, time-management and business prioritisation skills
  • Must be a highly driven and ambitious sales character - winning tenders, going out, and getting new business - not just wait for things to come to you
  • Able to work independently on researching new clients, new markets and technologies
  • Strong commercial, financial and business awareness
  • Degree or HND qualified in engineering or business
  • Ideally have previously worked for a £20m+ turnover business
  • Have experience of working in automation or engineering
  • Flexible to travel to meet with customers throughout the UK - manage own diary effectively
  • Experience in contract management, costing, financial calculations and estimations
  • Knowledge of CRM, AutoCAD, ERP and Microsoft Project (Desirable)
  • Able to target new business opportunities, business development and sell the business
  • Site survey and assessment skills
  • Ability to develop strong and trusted relationships
