Assistant To Head & Deputy Head Of Legal Practice.PAYE: £40 - LTD £49.80Location: CambourneShort term contractThe ideal candidate will need to assist with their governance. Work the majority of the post-holders work will relate to the regulatory affairs of the Partner Councils and Town and Parish Councils including governance, Regulation of Regulatory Powers Act (RIPA); Data Protection, Freedom of Information; providing support to the Monitoring Officer.Main Roles & Responsibilities: To give practical, clear, accurate and full legal advice to Councillors and Council officers, including the Chief Executive, Directors, Heads of Service and senior managers of the Partnership.To draft legal documents, including complex documents where original thought is required.To assist with the businesses responses to complex complaints, which may involve points of law and procedure.To assist in dispute resolution, taking a lead role in alternative dispute resolution and representing the Partnership at court and public inquiries.To deliver accurate, prompt, cost effective and customer focussed legal services to the Partnership and its client services, including ensuring that:Your work matches any standards and performance measures specified;Your productivity and efficiency meet any targets set to ensure that income earned by the team meets targets and that time recording procedures are followed.Experience and knowledgeAble to demonstrate substantial experience of providing full, practical, clear, and accurate legal advice on complex law issues, in particular in relation to local government powers and duties.Able to demonstrate being able to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision.Able to demonstrate substantial experience of working within a public authority including working with Directors/Heads of Service, senior elected members or equivalent.In depth and up to date knowledge of Community Governance Reviews, the Localism Act, RIPA, Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and local government practices generally.Good knowledge of local government law and procedures.Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the competency framework (See last page)If you have any questions please call Courtleigh on .
