Job Description

Summary Have you got fantastic leadership skills to inspire and motivate the Welcome Team, enabling staff and volunteers to create amazing experiences for our visitors Wed love you to bring your passion to help us achieve our big ambitions at Wimpole Estate.This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. Youll need to work weekends on a rotated basis to cover our operational needs. What its like to work here The scale of Wimpole is exciting and diverse. This impressive mansion, gardens and rare breed farm is one of the most dynamic and varied in the National Trust. The Welcome Team has a hugely important role, they create the first and last impression visitorshave of Wimpole. Youll work report into the Welcome Manager and help lead 7 Welcome & Service Assistants plus 50 volunteers.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll be using your creativity and communication skills both to inspire and motivate your staff and volunteers, to brilliantly welcome over 400,000 visitors every year. Youll lead the team to engage with all our visitors to inspire their support throughfundraising and membership and help our visitors have the best experience possible. As part of the Visitor Experience Leadership Team, youll work in collaboration with your peers to deliver our organisational strategy.Youll have responsibility for ensuring delivery of the highest standards of service, presentation and visitor experience through day to day operation.Youllneed to lead for exceptional customer service and achieve multiple financial targets to ensure we can care for and look after Wimpole, for now and forever. Who were looking for To deliver this role, youll need:

  • Good practical experience in visitor business
  • Naturally curious about people, and with a passion to and experience of delivering the exceptional standards of customer service
  • Confident leader, adaptable and responsive under pressure
  • Experience of inspiring and motivating through leading, coaching and role modelling
  • Proven record of achieving multiple targets and budgets
  • Excellent people skills, enabling strong relationships, both externally and internally
  • Experience of working to multiple deadlines and managing own workload
  • Outstanding organisation and planning skills, and a good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Hard working and a committed team player
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of relevant Health & Safety procedures
