Job Description

This role is for a market leading company designing, developing, and manufacturing drug delivery devices across the globe. They are leading the way in drug delivery device innovation, driven by customer and patent demand, offering the potential to createnew treatments and opportunities worldwide.Test Engineer Role:As the Test Engineer, you will be responsible for making decisions within remit above and to escalate issues with significant risk to relevant Technical lead, Project Manager, or Innovation Manager. You will need to express a proven track record workingwith, testing and evaluating mechanical machinery to an exceptional standard.Test Engineer Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new products, from early stage concepts to ready for trial product
  • contribute as a team member to allocated work-streams within innovation projects, to meet project targets and ensure end product meets with customer expectations and operational needs
  • Utilise project knowledge and engineering knowledge to drafts extracts of reports for review and input into (client) reports
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach by proactively seeking out development opportunities by learning and attending training courses to ensure that department has right skills to deliver business needs
  • Provide engineering and process knowledge to input to activities and business decision making within speciality area
  • Contribute to all stages of testing activities for Innovation projects, such as the creation of test protocols, designing and procuring test apparatus, analysis of results and report writing
  • Liaise with internal colleagues to ensure that testing requirements are understood
  • Define experimental method(s) and apparatus, including creation of test protocols, to ensure tests are carried out according to requirements
  • Design, procure, build and verify test apparatus to ensure that it is adequate for testing
  • Undertake validation of the test apparatus, where required, to ensure suitability for use, ensuring that adequate risk assessment is undertaken
  • Carry out diligent experimental testing to a high standard, in accordance to test protocol
  • Document results of the tests carried out in a clear and professional manner
Test Engineer Essentials:
  • Educated to Level 5 (or equivalent), preferable in an Engineering subject. Experience level - Competent - Demonstrable industry experience
  • Industrial experience of specifying and conducting test programmes and writing reports
  • Experimental diligence and the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data
  • Working knowledge of rapid prototyping techniques and processes
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional team and to build relationships with peers
  • Ability to manage own time and work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at one time
  • A can do attitude and plenty of initiative
