Job Description

Technical Sales Executive - Automotive ElectronicsLocation: Cambridgeshire (Hybrid)The Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for supporting and expanding existing key accounts and developing new accounts within the UK (and Turkey as a secondary market) across our clients entire portfolio, including relevant third-party products. This position requires a strong commercial background and a working knowledge of automotive electronics to fully understand clients requirements and reports directly to the UK Business Manager.This professional will research and contact existing and new prospective customers, provide technical product information and demonstrations, assist in creating customer quotes and help improve, extend and strengthen customer relationships. They will use the Zoho CRM system to create and enter sales reports to track progress in line with the broader commercial goals of the business. Responsibilities:* Forging strategic relationships and developing sales volume with new accounts.* Preparing sales plans with the UK Business Manager and presenting technical demonstrations.* Participating in product trade shows, both physical and virtual. * Assisting in creating sales quotations and sales proposals.* Supporting customers with pre- and post-sales information and assistance in conjunction with the UK Applications Engineering team, headed by the Engineering Manager.* Providing timely feedback to Applications Engineering as input for new feature/product requirements.* Travelling within the UK region to the customers location, when relevant.* Working with global sales and support team to develop and maintain customer information in a common customer relationship database (Zoho CRM).* Using Zoho CRM for reporting and expanding customer contact base, in conjunction with UK sales administration staff.* Liaising with Global HQ in the USA to actively participate in a feedback loop for new product and service development.* Researching new segments to penetrate (eg, motorsport, medical, renewable energy) and providing ideas to the UK Business Manager.Candidate Requirements:* The candidate must be highly presentable, well organized and detail oriented.* Prepared to regularly travel within the UK visiting customers and able to travel to Europe and USA for conferences, exhibitions, etc.* A working knowledge of electronics and automotive/motorcycle development practices would be highly advantageous.* The ability to understand the accelerating changes impacting the automotive sector and identify the commercial opportunities that the move to electrification is creating.* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish strong customer relationships.* The ability to work in a team environment and to negotiate and communicate decisions.* A self-starter with positive disposition to growth and change, with high levels of initiative and motivation to improve and perform.Education/Experience:* Education to degree level (or equivalent).* Electronics engineering experience is desirable.* Sales experience.* Experience with engine and/or vehicle calibration activities a plus.* Knowledge of High-Voltage systems and electric powertrain a plus.
