Job Description

Technical Product OwnerCambourne / Hybrid / Remote This is an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner to join a technical team that all sit under one roof in Cambridge, working within a growing technology product market where you get to have exposure to all stages of the product. We are seeking someone tohelp drive the development of our clients products working with the product development and software agile teams, as a Product Owner you will be playing a key role in supporting the long-term product roadmap and being the consumer voice through all elementsof the product journey.The role will incorporate both physical/mechanical products and mobile applications. You will work to understand the product roadmap and customer need in order to populate and prioritise the backlog of active work. Working with the project and product manager,you will have responsibility for delivering regular app releases and new product enhancements across the product category.Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the delivery of the short to mid-term product roadmap utilising Agile business processes like backlog grooming for prioritising and maintaining tickets with the long-term roadmap and consumers at forefront of mind.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to specify the needs, and R&D to evaluate the different technological options and directions.
  • Create actionable and detailed user stories for development teams, ensuring that each is delivered to the defined acceptance criteria.
  • Answer day-to-day questions from development teams on specific requirements to meet the scope of project/ product
  • Product testing - working with Usability Engineer and Designers to ensure consumer acceptance
  • Work closely with application UX/UI design team- continually testing designs in accordance with product scope
  • Work closely with engineering, systems design, and project management teams to ensure that the planned products are delivered to market according to the agreed time and specification.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop product positioning and provide data for product announcements and collateral.
  • Support the Marketing team throughout the complete NPI process.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in Product Owner role with a proven track record in delivering connected devices or software products and physical products
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Ability to write clear, well thought through and concise user stories
  • Understanding of the customer value drivers relating to the projects
  • Deep understanding of the technical aspects of the project and ability to define & prioritise items based on sometimes conflicting/unclear requirements
  • Extensive working knowledge of agile methodology, including scrum and Jira
  • Excellent communication and moderating skills across all business levels.
