Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Accounting Lead to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry working remotely initially on a contract basis for 12 months.Company:Our client is a global research-based bio pharmaceutical company with a major UK presence who are committed to making a meaningful impact on people’s lives with life-changing medicines. This is a worldwide brand name which will not only look fantastic on yourCV for years to come but also offer inspiring and rewarding work.Location:This Communications Lead will be based in central Cambridge and offers hybrid working (2 days at home/3 days onsite).Daily Rate: £379/day Umbrella or £304/day PAYE Technical Accounting Lead Role:

  • Provide finance expertise making a significant contribution to the technical accounting conclusions for the group, providing technical accounting advise and support as necessary across all areas and contributing to the delivery of technical accounting training.
  • Act as Group Financial Reporting (GFR) representative and play a significant role in the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Support the technical review and assessment of deals: ensure the approach is compliant as well as demonstrating thought leadership and is reflective of our evolving business model and shape.
  • Support the construction of accounting judgements briefing papers, presentations or Accounting Issues Notes to be used for discussions with auditors and other stakeholders.
  • Plays a lead role in the group Annual Report process providing co-ordination with auditors and the rest of the GFR team ensuring the auditors and other internal/external review points on the GFR owned sections of the Annual Report are appropriately addressed.
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified finance professional e.g. ACA/ACCA with significant experience particularly in IFRS reporting.
  • Experience of working across a global organisation
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements and governance principles/SOX across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience of working with senior management in matrix environment.
